Projects can be entered into multiple categories.
DCP and Compass Awards
The Awards are seeking submissions across 8
categories, including Inspirational leader of the
year, Young Planner of the year and Sole Trader
of the Year. They will recognise individuals,
organisations and projects that have had, or are
judged likely to have, a positive impact on places
and communities through professional planning
work.
The DCP & COMPASS Awards are intended to
supplement and be complimentary the Planning
Resource Awards by recognising people and work
that have not been already been covered but
which we want to spotlight.
Development Management (Control) Team Of The Year
The Development Management Team of the Year Award recognises the outstanding achievements of local authority Development Management teams.
We are seeking submissions that highlight exceptional work in areas including:
- Significant team achievements within the last 12 months
- Exceptional projects or services delivered, and the reasons for their excellence
- How projects or services were tailored to meet community or client needs
- Challenges faced by the team and how they were overcome
- Navigation of challenging or complex stakeholder environments
- Client/applicant/partner satisfaction with the level of service
- Effective collaboration with other Local Planning
Authorities
Planning Enforcement Team
This category recognises the outstanding achievements of Local Authority Enforcement teams.
We are seeking submissions that highlight exceptional work in areas including:
- Significant team achievements within the last 12 months
- Exceptional projects or services delivered, and the reasons for their excellence
- How projects or services were tailored to meet community or client needs
- Challenges faced by the team and how they were overcome
- Navigation of challenging or complex stakeholder environments
- Client/applicant/partner satisfaction with the level of service
- Effective collaboration with other Local Planning
Authorities
Supplementary Planning Document Of The Year
This award will go to the entry that best demonstrates how
a supplementary planning documents has had, or is likely
to have, a positive impact on the physical or environmental
quality of a place or the economic or social well-being of
its community. For the purposes of this award, we define
supplementary planning documents as guidance which builds
upon and provides more detailed advice or guidance on
policies in an adopted local plan.
Young Planner Of The Year
The Young Planner of the Year Award recognises exceptional talent early in their planning career. If you are under 30 and working in any planning sector. We seek outstanding young professionals who have already made a significant contribution to the field. Your entry can highlight your overall career progression and specific projects or accomplishments that showcase your abilities.
Please ensure your submission clearly demonstrates how you meet the judging criteria outlined below:
- Personal and team working skills
- Understanding of planning policy and area of planning they work in
- Quality and diversity of recent planning experience and achievements
- Originality of approach and enthusiasm
Unsung Heroes Of Planning
This award to recognise those for their great initiative for
getting the job done. Could be a great team motivator, a role
model or even a mentor to their colleagues going above and
beyond their job description.
In-House Planning Team Of The Year
The In-House Team of the Year Award recognises the outstanding achievements of in-house planning teams within organisations that don’t primarily focus on planning or built environment consultancy. This includes sectors such as third sector organisations, charities, government departments, developers, commercial organisations, leisure providers, and charities.
We are seeking submissions that highlight exceptional work in areas including:
- Significant team achievements within the last 12 months
- Exceptional projects or services delivered, and the reasons for their excellence
- How projects or services were tailored to meet community or client needs
- Challenges faced by the team and how they were overcome
- Navigation of challenging or complex stakeholder environments
- Client/applicant/partner satisfaction with the level of service
- Effective collaboration with Local Planning Authorities
Sole Trader Of The Year
This award will go to the sole practitioner that can most clearly
demonstrate how one or more elements of its planning work
has/have helped clients to have a positive impact - or a likely
positive impact – on the physical or environmental quality of
a place or places and/or the economic or social well-being of a
community or communities. Where an entry comprises work
on a single project that is intended to go/is going/has gone
through the development management process, it must have
an outline or a full permission for the entry to be eligible for an
award.
Inspirational Leader Of The Year
This award is presented to a manager who inspires their teams to achieve great success. Someone who has served and contributed substantially to planning in various capacities. This award recognises excellence in the planning field, which benefits colleagues and the public at large.
The criteria for the award are as follows:
- Nominee will have exhibited sustained, outstanding and active service to planning over an exceptional period - is the basic criterion for the award.
- Nominee will be “subject matter experts”, leaders who elevate and mentor others and dedicated to the planning profession.
- Nominee should reflect and demonstrate how their work
has made/is making a positive impact to colleagues and the
public at large.
